PHASE TWO: FEATURE FILM CRITERIA

  • The Artios committee in conjunction with the Board of Directors is responsible for the creative content and physical production of the Los Angeles, New York, and London shows.
  • The CSA Board reserves the right to determine if a project qualifies in its respective category, and can adjust the project’s category accordingly.
  •  REMINDER:  We are once again requiring members to submit a cast list that best represents the members’ work on the project. THIS IS FOR ALL CATEGORIES! 
  • PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD THE INTERNAL CAST LIST THAT WAS GENERATED FOR YOUR PRODUCTION TEAM WITH CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION.
  • PLEASE USE THE NEW IMDbPro link on the submission sheet to link to your project. If anyone on the cast list on IMDbPro came attached to the project please also note that on the PDF cast list document that you need to upload.
  • Projects must have been released in a commercial motion picture theater in the United States between January 1, 2025 and December 31st, 2025. They must have  been released for at least one (1) week in these qualifying metropolitan areas: Los Angeles County, the city of New York, the Bay Area,  Chicago, Miami, and/or Atlanta.  
  • If the movie is an English language feature originating outside of the United States, it must have been released in a commercial motion picture theater between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 for at least one (1) week in a capital city or major metropolitan area. For clarity, English language feature films originating outside of the United States should NOT be submitted in the International Feature Film category. 
  • International Feature Film projects must have been released in a commercial motion picture theater between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. It must have been released for at least one (1) week in a major metropolitan area or capital city. 
  • Film festival releases are not criteria for eligibility. Films must have received distribution and been released in a commercial motion picture theater.  
  • You must be a Casting Director or an Associate Casting Director/Casting Producer member of CSA in good standing as of October 15, 2025 in order to submit or be submitted for Artios recognition and to vote for Artios.
  • You must be credited (onscreen) as a Casting Director in order to submit or be submitted for Artios recognition.
  • For clarity, Location Casting Directors can only be eligible if the lead casting director is a CSA member and submits the project. If the lead Casting Director is not a CSA member or an active member currently, then the project is ineligible.
  • CSA Associate Casting Director members are to be submitted for nomination by the CSA Casting Director submitting the project(s) that  the CSA Associate Casting Director worked on. CSA Associate Casting Directors who did not receive screen credit are eligible for submission and the Casting Director should submit them regardless of whether or not screen credit was received if the Casting Director feels credit is warranted. 
  • If a CSA member received on screen credit, they are eligible to be submitted for Artios recognition.
  • CSA Associate Casting Director/Casting Producer members MAY submit their project(s) if they are credited as the Casting Director of said project(s). To submit, contact CSA Admin via email and ask for Class A access to submit your project as a casting director. If they co-Cast with a Casting Director member of CSA, then the project must be submitted through that Casting Director's CSA account. 
  • Studio Casting Directors – those who are not permitted on-screen credit – are still eligible for an Artios. A letter from the producer verifying the casting will be required.
  • THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE NOMINATION BALLOT SUBMITTED  PER PROJECT – please check with your team to make sure only one  of you is submitting your project. 
  • The primary CSA Casting Director (or one member of a team of the primary CSA Casting Directors, or a CSA member of a Studio Casting  Department) must submit all the CSA Casting Directors (including  CSA Location Casting Directors), and CSA Associate Casting Directors who participated on the project being considered for nomination. 
  • In order for a project to be considered, the lead Casting Director on the project must be a CSA member. All the submitted CSA Casting Directors, CSA Location Casting Directors and CSA Associate Casting  Directors will appear on the ballot. Any disputes regarding inclusion of a Location Casting Director or Associate Casting Director shall be brought before the Board  of Directors and reviewed. The outcome will be decided by a vote by  the Board of Directors. For clarity, if the Associate Casting Director is a CSA member, but the lead Casting Director is not, then the project is ineligible for nomination. If the Location Casting Director is a CSA member, but the lead Casting Director is not, the project is ineligible for an Artios Award.
  • The Artios Award nominations are voted on by Casting Director level members of CSA, and the selection of the winners are voted on by all members (Casting Directors, Associate Casting Directors, and Casting Producer members). In the event of a tie during the nomination voting round, both projects in question will be nominated. In the event of a tie when selecting a winner both projects will win and each winning project will be presented with separate awards.
  • All CSA Casting  Director, Location Casting Director and Associate Casting  Director names on a nominated project will appear  in the Artios program and on ads recognizing the Artios nominees.  Additionally, when the final nominated projects are announced at the  Artios Awards Ceremony, all nominated CSA Casting Directors and Associate Casting Director will be announced.  
  • When a nominated project is announced as a winning project, each CSA member on the team will receive their own Artios Obelisk(s). 
  • Casting Director and Associate Casting Director/Casting Producer members of the nominated projects will be able to receive a digital certificate of nomination upon request. Please reach out to CSA Staff to request this. 
  • The Artios committee in consultation with the Board of Directors will have the right to eliminate a nomination after consultation with the credited CSA Casting Director(s) if that nomination does not meet the eligibility requirements. 
  • The Artios committee will have the right to suggest the addition of  new categories and the elimination of established categories to the  Board of Directors of the CSA. The Board of Directors will have the right, by a majority vote of the board, to combine, create new, or  eliminate established categories. 
  • There must be a minimum of three (3) nominations in each category for the category to be voted on and awarded for that year. At the discretion of the Board, nominations will either be eliminated or may  be folded into another appropriate category, if that category exists.
  • Films that received non-theatrical distribution (straight to streaming or made for TV) do not qualify in any of these categories. It is only eligible for the “Film, First Released for Television or Streaming” category in Phase One, which has passed.  
  • There will be no extensions, no exceptions. Incomplete submissions may or may not be accepted.

FEATURE - ANIMATION 

  • Feature films in this category can be of any budget level.
  • If there are not enough nominees submitted to deem this an eligible category, then the nominees that are submitted in this category will  be folded into another category deemed appropriate by the Artios Committee. 
  • Films must have received theatrical or streaming distribution and been released.

  • Please upload a cast list for consideration.

  • All feature-length films with predominantly (over 50%) non-English language dialogue are eligible. Exemptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Films must be produced outside of the USA in order to be eligible and must be produced by a non-American production company. For clarity, American distribution does not disqualify the project.
  • If sending a screener, the submission must be subtitled in English. This includes all on-screen text, such as text message exchanges and chyrons.
  • Films must have received theatrical or streaming distribution and been released. 

LONDON THEATRE (New Category)

  • The first performance must have occurred between June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025.
  • Plays and musicals are eligible. Must appear in a theatre inside the M25. Must have a minimum of Sixteen (16) paid performances (including previews). Productions must operate in line with SOLT Rules and be presented for a paying audience. 
  • The following are NOT ELIGIBLE: road/touring companies, readings, workshops, benefits, or improvised/unscripted performances. 
  • Please note, only one production can be submitted i.e if the relevant production transfers from an off-West End venue to a West End house, please submit only ONE iteration, for example: Operation Mincemeat (Fortune Theatre) OR Operation Mincemeat (Southwark Playhouse) . 
  • Please include the name of the theatre in your submission title to eliminate potential duplicates or multiple productions in different venues. For example: The Motive and the Cue (National Theatre).
